Charizard 3D model

Description

Man, I made this ages ago. It's taken me this long to finally post it anywhere. This was the final project from my character modeling class. We were pretty much allowed to model whatever we wanted, so long as it was sufficiently complex. At first I was gonna do my cat avatar character, but then I decided I'd rather go with something that people would recognize. Unlike most of my final projects, this did not involve any epic sleepless work blitzes in the 3d lab. I actually finished before most of my classmates.

The problem was that during the class itself, we never got into texturing. I think we spent maybe 2 hours going over how to unwrap a model, and that's it. From there I was able to figure out the rest easily enough, but I never got a chance to actually paint the textures (you know how it is, you want to go back and rework a project but new projects keep getting in the way.) Well, I needed footage of it for a demo reel I'm putting together in a class this semester, so I threw together a texture yesterday and spent the evening rendering out pretty footage with glowey firey animated-ness (I totally forgot to add the glow to the fire here. Whoops.)

I must emphasize that I only spent a few hours on the texture, so it's extremely bare-minimum and rushed. That's all I had time for. :/

I kept changing approaches as I modeled him. At first I wanted hm to be posed slightly, but then I altered it so that he would be in the generic spread-armed pose, which would be better suited to rigging. But then we never got to rig our characters. So now he's stuck in that derpy pose forever. >:

lol do you still want someone to rig this model? I could totally do it in Blender. (It's a super nice model and I need to get over my fear of creating armatures from scratch.)
